California Privacy Notice

1. Categories of personal information we collect

• Identifiers - name, email address, phone number, account identifier
• Approximate geolocation - city, region, postal or ZIP code, coordinates if you allow them
• Commercial information - membership and payment records held by our payment processor
• Internet activity - pages used within the service, security and error logs
• Content you provide - profile text, messages, reports, activity listings
• Information about your children that you enter - nickname, age, interests, preferences, and optionally a photograph or faith preference

We collect these directly from you. We use them to operate the service, to match families, to keep the community safe, to bill your membership, and to meet legal obligations.

2. Your California rights

• Right to know what we collect, use and disclose, and to receive a copy
• Right to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information
• Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
• Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
• Right not to be discriminated against for exercising a right

3. No sale or sharing

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not have a financial incentive programme. Because we do not carry out these activities, there is currently nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes we will publish an opt-out on Your Privacy Choices and update this notice before doing so.

4. Children and teenagers under 16

California law places additional requirements on the personal information of consumers under 16. Only adults hold FamilyFriendFinder accounts. Information about a child is entered and controlled by the adult account holder. We do not sell or share information about anyone under 16 for any purpose, and we do not use child photographs for advertising, facial recognition or AI training.

5. Sensitive personal information

We treat faith or religion preferences and precise location as sensitive. Faith is optional and used only if you turn on faith-based matching. Precise coordinates are never shown to other members; only an approximate distance is displayed, and you can hide your location entirely.

6. Retention

We keep each category only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and afterwards only where a legal, security, accounting or dispute purpose requires it. Retention periods are recorded in our internal Data Retention and Deletion Policy.

7. How to exercise your rights

Submit a request in the Privacy Request Center, or email our privacy contact. We verify identity before acting on a request about personal information, and we allow authorized agents. If we decline, we explain why and how to appeal.
