How FamilyFriendFinder Works
Parent-controlled from the first click to the first playdate.
1. Create your parent or guardian account
You confirm that you are a parent or legal guardian, agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy, and verify your email address. There is no child sign-up path anywhere on this platform.
2. Set your location
Choose Use My Current Location or Enter Location Manually. We explain why we ask before the browser prompt appears. Your coordinates are stored securely and are never shown to another family.
3. Add a profile for each child
A first name or nickname, an age, and whichever details you choose: interests, activities, languages, personality, preferred friend age range, availability and search distance.
4. Search families nearby
Filter by radius, age, interests, activities, language, faith preference, personality, group size and availability. You can also search another location without changing your home location.
5. Compare compatibility
Each result shows a compatibility aid - Strong Match, Good Match or Possible Match - based only on the information parents voluntarily entered. It is not a psychological assessment.
6. Express interest
The other parent is told that another parent is interested in finding out whether your children might be a good friendship or playdate match. They can accept or decline.
7. Match and message
When both parents express interest, Private Parent Messaging opens between the two adults. Your surname, email, phone and address stay private unless you choose to share them.
8. Arrange the playdate
You decide the place, the time and who comes along. Report, block and end-conversation tools stay available throughout.
FamilyFriendFinder is parent-controlled. Children do not create accounts or communicate independently.
