Plain-language summary

A short overview to help you read the document below. The full document is what applies.

  • Anyone can report a member or block them immediately.
  • Private parent messages are not routinely readable by administrators.
  • We cannot promise a particular outcome for any individual report.

1. How a report is handled

Reports go into an internal case management system with a status, an assigned reviewer and a record of the outcome. Repeated reports about the same account raise an internal safety flag for administrative review. Blocking takes effect immediately and does not wait for a review.

2. Actions we may take

  • Warning to the account holder
  • Removal of specific content
  • Temporary restriction of a feature
  • Messaging restriction
  • Hiding or suspending a profile
  • Permanent account termination
  • Referral to appropriate authorities where legally required or appropriate

We weigh the seriousness of the conduct, the evidence available, the history of the account and the risk to other members. We do not promise that every report will result in a particular action, and we may act without a report where we identify a risk ourselves.

3. Access to private conversations

Messages between parents are private. They are not routinely available to administrators. Administrative access is limited to a legitimate safety or moderation purpose - for example a report, a safety flag, a legal obligation or a fraud investigation. When an administrator accesses a conversation we record who they are, the reason, the date and time, and the related case or report identifier in an audit log.

4. Automated safety signals

Some patterns - such as a message that appears to contain a phone number, an email address or a push to move off the platform - raise an internal flag for review. This is a signal for human review, not an accusation, and it does not mean we read every message. FamilyFriendFinder does not monitor members around the clock.

5. Appeals

If your account is restricted or terminated you may contact us through the Contact page to ask us to reconsider. We will review the decision and respond.

6. Not an emergency service

FamilyFriendFinder is not an emergency service. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then report the account to us.
