Plain-language summary

A short overview to help you read the document below. The full document is what applies.

  • Only adults may hold an account, and only as a parent, legal guardian or lawfully authorized adult.
  • Children never sign in, search or message. All communication is parent to parent.
  • We facilitate introductions. We do not verify another member's character or guarantee safety.
  • Membership is $4.99 a month for 36 months, then $19.95 a month. You can cancel any time.

1. Eligibility and the parent/guardian requirement

You must be an adult able to form a binding contract where you live, and you must be the parent or legal guardian of each child whose profile you create, or otherwise have lawful authority to manage that child's information. Children may not register, sign in, search, match or send messages. Creating an account on behalf of a child, or letting a child use your account, breaches these terms.

2. Account creation and truthfulness

You agree that the information you provide is true and kept up to date, that you will keep your password confidential, and that you are responsible for everything done through your account. You must accept the Parent and Guardian Agreement to hold an account.

3. Parent responsibility

You control all searching, interest requests, messaging, scheduling and disclosure of contact information. You are responsible for supervising your own children and for deciding whether, when and where to meet another family.

4. Child profiles

A child profile is a dependent record on your account, not a user account. Only a nickname or first name, an age and a general area are needed. A photograph and a faith preference are optional and off unless you choose them. You must not publish a child's full legal name, school, home address or date of birth.

5. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

  • Do not seek contact with another family's child directly.
  • Do not request or publish a child's full legal name, school, address or birth date.
  • Do not harass, bully, threaten, deceive, stalk, dox or attempt to exploit anyone.
  • Do not post sexual content or solicit anyone sexually.
  • Do not impersonate another person or share your account.
  • Do not use the service for dating, commercial solicitation, spam or fraud.
  • Do not file false reports.
  • Do not attempt to bypass privacy, matching, messaging or safety controls.
  • Do not attempt to move a conversation off the platform in order to avoid our safety controls.

Our Community Guidelines set this out in detail and form part of these terms.

6. Matching

Matching suggestions are generated from the information parents enter and the preferences you set. A suggestion is not a recommendation, an endorsement or a safety determination, and we do not guarantee compatibility.

7. Parent-to-parent communication

Messaging becomes available only after both parents accept a connection, and only between adult accounts. Either parent can end a conversation or block the other at any time. We do not guarantee the accuracy of anything another member tells you.

8. User-generated content and licence

You keep ownership of the profile text, descriptions, photographs, activity listings and messages you provide. You grant FamilyFriendFinder a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating, securing, supporting and improving the service, and for as long as needed for those purposes. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies we must keep for legal, security or dispute purposes.

We do not obtain a broad perpetual commercial licence to children's images or information. Specifically, child photographs are never used for advertising, facial recognition or AI training, and are never sold or licensed to third parties.

9. Reporting and blocking

You can report a member and you can block a member. Blocking takes effect immediately and ends any conversation between you. Reports are handled under our Moderation and Enforcement Policy.

10. Suspension and termination

We may warn, restrict, suspend, ban or remove an account or profile where we believe these terms have been breached, where activity requires administrative review, or where doing so protects members of the community. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

11. Subscription, billing and cancellation

Membership is billed monthly in advance through our payment processor. The Founding Member launch price of $4.99 per month applies for your first 36 monthly billing periods; the regular price is $19.95 per month afterwards unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes may be added based on your billing location. See the Subscription Terms and the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

12. Intellectual property and platform ownership

The FamilyFriendFinder name, design, software and content are owned by FamilyFriendFinder or its licensors. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the service or its content.

13. Third-party services

We rely on service providers for hosting, database, authentication, email, payment processing, analytics, security and customer support. Their handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimers

FamilyFriendFinder is a platform that facilitates introductions between parents and guardians. We do not independently guarantee the identity, character, conduct, suitability, parenting practices or safety of another member. We are not a childcare provider, babysitting service, school, daycare, camp, therapist, social worker or guardian, and we do not supervise children. We do not perform background checks. FamilyFriendFinder is not an emergency service.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FamilyFriendFinder is not liable for the conduct of other members, for anything that happens during an activity, meeting or playdate arranged through the platform, or for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify FamilyFriendFinder against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or your conduct towards another member or their child.

17. Dispute resolution and governing law

We would like the chance to resolve a problem directly first, so please contact us before starting formal proceedings. The governing law and the venue for disputes will be stated here following review by our U.S. and Canadian counsel, and will respect the consumer protections available where you live. We have deliberately not inserted an arbitration or class-action waiver clause; if one is ever appropriate and lawful in your jurisdiction, it will be added by a published new version of these terms with notice to account holders.

18. Changes to these terms

We may publish a new version of these terms. Each version has a number and an effective date, and previous versions are retained. Where a change is material we will notify account holders through the platform or by email, and we will ask you to accept the new version where that is legally or contractually appropriate.

19. Severability and entire agreement

If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These terms, together with the Parent and Guardian Agreement, the Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy and the Subscription Terms, form the entire agreement between you and FamilyFriendFinder about the service.
