Safety Guidelines
Practical steps for a calm, safe first meetup.
Before you meet
- Talk parent-to-parent on the platform first. There is no rush.
- Keep your surname, address, phone and email private until you are comfortable.
- Ask about supervision, allergies, pets and house rules in advance.
The first meetup
- Choose a public place: a park, library, community centre or playground.
- Both parents stay present for the whole visit.
- Keep it short - an hour is plenty for a first meeting.
- Agree in advance who is bringing whom, and how the children will get home.
Ongoing
- Move to a home visit only when both parents are confident.
- Talk with your child afterwards about how it went.
- Stop if anything feels off, and use Block or Report.
Red flags worth reporting
- Pressure to share personal contact details or move to another app.
- Questions about a child's school, address, routine or full name.
- Requests to meet a child without their parent present.
- Anyone who cannot confirm they are a parent or legal guardian.
